February Photography and Events

Getting this out a day late, things got a little busy here. Inside you’ll find an image that brought me peace, a summary of past and present, next month’s photo walk, and a few new images from a recent time out. Enjoy!

Last of the Desert Light

As the light fades away over this remote desert area, so did the stress that led me to such a beautiful location.

What Happened Last Month and What’s Coming Up

Last month’s accomplishments:

January saw the first farmer’s market events and with it meeting a whole lot of new faces. I have found many people that love photography and appreciate the artform. Selling at the markets has been slow to start but, I do feel that the connections I have made are well worth it. The sales will come in time!

Upcoming Events:

Continuing in February, I will be vending at local Farmer’s Markets with prints of my images for sale! I have a confirmed date for the Capital City Market and am still on the substitute list for the Burlington Farmer’s Market. I have begun to use social media (primarily Instagram) to announce market attendance. Follow me on there to see the stories when I am offered a substitution opportunity! As always, if you see me at either, stop by and say hi!

This Month’s Goals:

This month holds a lot of change for me. Shifting to a new “day job” has moved my productive time more into the evening and with less time for myself and projects. I’ll be working on what that looks like, what my new schedule might be, how my time and fun fits in, and mostly how to I make the most of the time I have. Making a change like this is often daunting but, taking it little piece by little piece I should be able to enact a bigger change in the end.

This Month’s Photo Walk - Feb 18th

This month we’ll be heading up to Barr Hill Natural Area to walk around and explore. This is a new area to me so we’ll be following the trail systems and (hopefully) making our way towards the summit for what I have been told is a fantastic view of the mountain ranges around the area. I plan to be there about 10am and walk around until 2pm.

As an added bonus, since we’ll be in the area, after exploring we can head to the Highland Center for the Arts to support John Snell’s gallery reception from 3-5pm.

As always, shoot me a message if you want me to be on the lookout for you!
