Ski for Cheap? Yes, Please!

Like my mom….

…I’m keeping it short and sweet. This has been a very busy month for me with a lot of momentum that will carry forward. Today I’m sharing with you an article I wrote about a pivotal point in my learning, a fun book, and a local mountain doing their part to keep snow sports accessible.

All the principals, techniques, drills, and exercises still applied but now I was having to really think about motions that were simply second nature in my normal riding. I not only had to think about reversing the steps of making a turn, I had to return to being aware of my body position and even how my head was turned to see my direction of travel.

Bolton Valley Resort is one of just a handful of independently owned ski resorts left in the country. With significantly lower ticket prices, one of the few Vermont resorts to offer lift services after dark, and my personal favourite, maintained backcountry access, it’s no wonder Bolton was featured in the film The Pursuit of Soul.

I do have more recipes to share with you but, I ran out of time to make an image before getting this newsletter prepped. I promise I’ll make it up to you in the next giving newsletter with something I’ve really been enjoying lately!

What I’m Reading this Month

I’m still very early in this book so can’t speak too deeply to the story but, as Neil Gaiman so often does, the world is being built so wonderfully!

As a note, in an effort to consume more literature, I have embraced the free library app Libby. This book is currently being read to me by the author himself and is a wonderful way to spend my commutes!

Reminder - Next Photo Walk!

Just a reminder to any of you who can join, I’ll be exploring the Barre Hill Natural Area on Sunday the 18th! I’ll be arriving about 10am with the intention to explore until around 1pm. Afterwards, we’ll find a bite to eat and, since we’ll be in the area, I encourage you to attend the gallery reception for John Snell at the Highland Center for the Arts from 3-5pm.

I hope these ideas, tips, and treats are helpful to you. If you have found them to be, feel free to share this newsletter with others. I try to put out two a month, the first of the month being news and updates for my work, and the middle of the month freely sharing things you may find helpful.

Thank you and keep creating!
