A Big Holiday Story

Happy Holidays from your friendly New England photographer!

I didn’t grow up with many family traditions but, the ones we did have were very special!

Learning what was to be the family Christmas tree this year, the eyes of the four Fischer children widened. Jaws dropped, pretenses fell, traditions broke, needles tumbled from fingers. We were about to have the largest Christmas tree ever!

A Note From Me:

As 2024 winds to an end it is common to look back on the year. This year I focused heavily on building my business and developing myself as an artist. Some of that work can be seen, building these newsletters into something of value and the foray into print sales are two examples. However, even far more work went in behind the scenes. While I am very proud of what I have created this year, much of the business growth came at the cost of personal attention. Going into 2025 I feel good about where KFA is, about what I have to offer, and for the skills I’ve built. This next year I hope for a return to more balance in my life and especially a return to the gym that helps me feel energetic through the days.

To create this balance, I’ll be making a few small changes to the storefront. I have identified a print house that can create the sizes and options for my fine art and will be moving to all drop-shipping services. This will not only help me to keep the shipping cost down but I can offer a greater range of print mediums and more protective shipping. The greatest benefit is that I’ll be able to focus my time on creating new work, both for fine art and for brand campaigns. What I’m really excited about is that I’ll no longer have to maintain the inventory I had this year!

For those of you who connected with me at markets, I’ll still be attending although less farmer’s markets, focusing more are arts & craft fares. I’ll be putting more into the Reclaimed & Framed works to offer people ready to hang pieces of art with upcycled frames. I’ll also be phasing out the 5x7 prints size and moving more into larger formats suitable for walls.

I know that change can take time but, this year has shown me what is most important to me and where I need to direct my energy. It has always been my want to share the amazing nature that exists all around us and to hopefully inspire those that view my images, whether digitally or in print, to go out and explore for themselves. I absolutely love what I get to do. It’s not always easy and not always profitable but, it is unique and fun.

All this said, I’m very happy you are here and that each of you found an image, story, or post that spoke to you enough that you chose to receive my little newsletters. For that I thank all of you.

I wish you all the best this holiday season however you chose to celebrate and for a peaceful, balanced, fulfilling new year.
