With a second round of good luck, the skies once again cleared for the solar storm of early May.
What Happened Last Month and What’s Coming Up
Last month’s accomplishments:
The move was smooth and now I’m settling in to the new space. The new office/studio is coming along slowly but steadily. I have been able to get my print station set up, the table for print reviews laid out, and most all of the materials and gear I use and need have found a home. What remains are the odds and ends that have gathered over the years and the duplicates from not knowing where many of my things have been for such a long time. Having this space is really giving me a great sense of accomplishment and rejuvenation.
The summer session of markets have kicked off to a great success! The two markets I’m alternating between have been very welcoming and the customers have been amazing. Sales are up, people are stopping more frequently to chat, and I’m meeting all sorts of people who love both the art and the outdoors. Huzzah!
In continued efforts to engage with more people, I have set up an Etsy storefront and am testing out the advertising system there.
Newsletters are archived!! After much faffing about with my website I have learned how to create newsletters from blog posts (ironically the website service doesn’t work the other way around) and have recreated all the previous newsletters into posts. Now, if there was a post or link you want to find again, forward one on to a friend, reread an article, you can search through them all here.
Upcoming Events:
The month of June holds the goal to offer framing options for buyers of prints. I have created an affiliate account with Frame Destination to offer a wide range of customizable frame options. During the month, I’ll be working to create suggested frames to highlight prints to the best I can offer.
On the subject of frames, I have collected a mishmash of frames from estate sales, donations, second hand shops, and various other means of acquirement. I have been carting these around for some time knowing there was something to them but, not ever really know what that was. Well, I have figured out just what to do with this impressive collection of less than sexy frames: I’m going to exercise my creative juices to frame images in ways that I find interesting and offering them for in-person sales. These Reclaimed and Framed images will have only a slight extra charge for the frame and my time with the goal to put a piece of nature more readily in someone’s home.
June continues the summer market series where I’ll be in the two markets. Coming up next are two days on Grand Isle at the Champlain Island Farmer’s Market, and ending the month with a day at Montpelier’s Capitol City Market.
This Month’s Photo Walk - Taylor Lodge via Nebraska Notch
This scenic hike through wooded terrain ends with a fantastic view West over the Underhill and Bolton area. Over the length of the hike we’ll gain just over 950ft. where we’ll have the option to tack on a small loop to Nebraska Notch.
As always, shoot me a message if you want me to be on the lookout for you!
