With Smuggler’s Notch now open, I hiked up to Sterling Pond for a little lake time. Plus, a bonus image from Bingham Falls a day later.

Knowing very little about the area, I ventured up to the Barr Hill Natural Area and, boy am I glad I did! Such a beautiful area full of cross country ski trails, forest walks, and 360 degree views of the surrounding peaks! If you are looking for a getaway for a day hike, I highly recommend putting this area on your list.

This month’s photo walk I found myself tromping through hard packed snow around Hubbard Park in Montpelier, VT. The sun did break through the clouds a few times but, for the most part, it was flat light with cold temperatures. No chance I was going to capture a “keeper” that day but, was still fun to be out with my camera exploring the woods.
