Honey Lemon Spritz (Ky’s Special Drank)

During the hotter summer months I was asked to make up a non-alcoholic drink for one of the kitchen staff members at work. Not having much time before opening, I quickly poured some syrup, a bit of lemon juice, soda for fizz and then topped it with cranberry juice. Needless to say, it was a hit with Kylie as she sucked it down that day and has been asked for many times since. In house it’s referred to as “Ky’s Special Drank” but, to everyone else, it’s the Honey Lemon Spritz. Very easy to make and satisfying to drink, I love having this refreshing mocktail in my back pocket.

A refreshing non-alcoholic drink made of honey, lemon, soda water, and cranberry juice sits on a custom coaster with fresh lemon and cranberries. A small jar of honey and a bottle of club soda are slightly out of focus in the background.

1 oz Honey Simple Syrup

1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

Club Soda

Cranberry Juice

In a Collins Glass pour the honey simple in first followed by the lemon juice. Top the glass with ice. Fill to about 1/2 inch below the lip with club soda and top with the cranberry juice. Your choice to use a straw or not but the drink is best if the layers are presented when served.

With the ingredients being easily found and fairly inexpensive, I like having this drink when I need something just a little sweet. Feel free to adjust ratios to match your tastes or top with another juice of your choice (pomegranate might be good!). Enjoy!
