While hiking around a nature preserve here in Vermont I came upon this tree standing alone in a field. After playing with different compositions and exposures, I decided what I loved was how its bramble of branches reached for the sky in every direction imaginable. Here, that shape provides contrast to the uniform nature of the pine trees in the background.
