New England is coming alive with the warmer temperatures!
Otherworldly
A visit to an old friend results in a magical moment in time.
…it was the stately big leaf maple that stood proudly in its own little clearing that was my favourite. In every visit to this area, I would stop and marvel at this tree; the moss covered being that bent and twisted in opposition to its neighbors. And, with all my visits, it remained silent, never telling me its name.
What Happened Last Month and What’s Coming Up
Last month’s accomplishments:
Finished processing a new image from a recent exploration! I have a few more details to work out before posting it live but, watch the website for the new piece of art!
Upcoming Events:
April 8th is the total solar eclipse that will be passing directly overhead where I am. I plan to be photographing the celestial event as well as the gathering of people in the area. Be sure to get out to see this rare event and make sure to protect your eyes and camera sensors!
In April I am currently a substitute at the Capital City Market. I usually learn if I’ll be there in the week leading up so, follow me on Instagram where I’ll announce when I’m added! If you see me there be sure to stop by and say hi!
This Month’s Goals:
April brings with it the conclusion of my most recent large project that divided my energy. With more time available I can dedicate to my own goals, I will be shifting more into my creative endeavors.; principal on that list is my practice of video creation. I may even go crazy and try to learn After Effects! Eek!
This Month’s Photo Walk - April 21st
The warming temperatures of April means flowing water once again! And, as water flows over drops we find our waterfalls come into their glory. This month I will be chasing some of these waterfalls in and around the Stowe area. Exact locations will be determined by the next newsletter as I’ll be watching the weather.
April brings with it not just the warmer temperatures but, here in New England, what is colloquially known as “mud season”. This is the time of year where the melting snow saturates the ground turning all our favourite trails into avenues of mud. Please be conscious when out exploring during this time, it’s very easy to damage our trails during this time.
