Ring of Fire, Flowing Water, and Spring Spritz!

Holy Eclipse!

I was incredibly fortunate to be directly in the path of the total solar eclipse on April 8th! An event I won’t forget for a long, long time!

Having only witnessed partial eclipses before, I was unprepared for the awe of that moment. Seeing the day turn dark, feeling the temperature drop, and seeing the whisps of solar flares was nothing less than stunning!

Farmer’s Market Update!

Winter markets have been coming to an end and the summer markets are gearing up for their season. I will joining both the Capital City Market and the Champlain Island Market this summer on a rotating Saturday schedule. Keep watch on the next newsletter for dates and locations you can find me!

A refreshing little concoction for these warming days. Made with simple ingredients, fresh lime and basil, and free of spirits, this is a favourite afternoon refresher.

The White Stork Project has been a recent thrill in my days. I first learned of them through a small post on the BBC News and, since then have become enamoured with these birds.

The groups goal is to re-establish a wild, breeding population of white storks in the UK. The founding, non-flying birds were rescued from accidents and donated from the Warsaw Zoo. I personally have enjoyed many mornings watching the live stream while drinking my coffee.

Worth a Read (or Listen)

Take a heart-felt conversation, add a seasoning of memoir, throw in an abundance of humour and this book, read by the authors Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally has had me laughing at every listen!

This book was available to me locally on the Libby app. I encourage you to find and listen to the audiobook version. Being able to hear how this couple relate to each other is worth the effort.

Next Photo Walk - April 28th!

Make it stand out

Mud season is upon us limiting trail use. But, there are a few short trails made up of mostly boardwalks that we can access beautiful locations! Moss Glen Falls is just such a trail and the waterfall at the end is stunning! I’ll be heading to the trailhead around 10am for the short walk to the falls. The warmer temperatures should have the falls flowing strong making ideal conditions for some great photography!

Please note, I will be respecting the trail and trail crews on this day. If the weather does not cooperate and any section of the trail is overly muddy or icy, making the walk unsafe, I will turn back. If this does happen, I will likely head into Stowe to walk the paved River Walk path.

Take a look at past photo walk images!

I hope these ideas, tips, and treats are helpful to you. If you have found them to be, feel free to share this newsletter with others. I try to put out two a month, the first of the month being news and updates for my work, and the middle of the month freely sharing things you may find helpful.

Thank you and keep creating!
