9,600 Miles

During this summer, I spent just over five weeks on the road touring our nation’s National Parks and the less travelled places in between. In total I logged over 9,600 miles, visited 9 National Parks, hiked to an elevation just shy of 11,000 feet, saw 9 friends I haven’t seen in years, attended 1 wedding, and spent 3 days with my mom. My path took me through many bucket list locations, including a childhood home in Virginia. At the end of it all I was fulfilled and, admittedly, quite tired.

But, I was also very inspired.

Our natural world is amazing. There are features that left me in awe, expanses that seem to go on forever, and slabs of granite that positively make you feel as if you’re the smallest being alive. Touring the country in this manner help to refuel my photography mission. It is the desire to share these wonders with the public to inspire others to explore and (hopefully) protect the lands around us.

This is why I do this. This is why I put my images out to the world. This is why I strive to work with the brands that align with this sentiment. This is why I wake up before the sun to record images of what many people don’t get to see.

As I said, I was inspired. Inspired to keep pushing forward finding unique ways to represent this wonder that surrounds us.

Thank you.

I’m working on something very special and exciting that will soon be offered first to newsletter subscribers.

This will be a unique opportunity to engage in nature through photography and experiences. Be sure to be subscribed and, if you already are, pass this email to anyone that you think might be interested.

Stay tuned!

New Images Available!

My summer road trip resulted in a total of 12 New Images now available through the print shop. These images represent the vast natural diversity across the states.

Additionally, you will find more options for print sizes and mediums, including ChromaLux (metal), for your favourite image.

It’s here in the newsletter that I usually plug some random story or guide that I’ve written. But, here I want to shine the light on my friend Lisa Michelle. Lisa truly lives the mountain lifestyle from her home in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Endlessly following her curiosity and wonder, she’s hiked, explored, fished, swam, and SUP’d her way through many remote areas of the Sierras.

Her latest book, True Nature, both chronicles many of those explorations but, also reveals how the mountains can change a person. After I finished the book, I purposefully left it with a friend during my trip. The book is an light read but it’s meaning dives much deeper for anyone who has spent any time in our mountains.

I would encourage you to check out the book, see if it’s for you, and order one if you’re curious.

Yes, one of my images does grace the cover of her book and no, I receive no money from this post or book sales. The book is just that good.
